These practicums offer experience and exposure to a wide range of real world coding scenarios and documentation. That is just the beginning.
Practicums are designed to develop Candidates to full industry readiness.

All documented in Performance Evaluations that may be used in job search to demonstrate to prospective employers complete competency.
Each Practicum Candidate has a Professional Mentor that provides guidance, support, feedback, and evaluation so that candidates enter the employment field with the strongest advantage possible.
To be eligible for a Practicum, the applicant must be able to devote a minimum 10 hours a week to the externship commitment. Up to 30 hours per week.
The Candidate must provide a committed schedule of their availability. This means, the days and hours that the Candidate commits to are quite flexible however it is expected that the schedule provided will be reliably adhered to.
A Practicum should be undertaken by those looking for such an opportunity with the same dedication, diligence, and respect as an employment opportunity.
Failure to do so may result in termination of the Practicum.
The goal of a Practicum is presumably to gain experience and verifiable references, thus the Candidate shall strive towards demonstrating positive employment characteristics.
In some cases, Practicum Candidates may become eligible for hire by AAOMCP. At all times, AAOMCP will be actively attempting to identify employment opportunities for successful externs.
